Last month, zomato began testing their 10-minute food delivery service in the North part of India.
But with the shortage of delivery workers and hike in fuel prices and a crippling heatwave across north India, they were unable to satisfy the 10-minute deadline on all their orders.
Now sources tell us, that the company is no longer trying to test their 10-minute delivery and may settle for longer delivery times.
So, this Zomato instant works to deliver the orders placed in just 10-minutes and they were conferring to say it was running as expected.
But on the app, zomato instant shows delivery times of 15-20 minutes on average.
Also, they stated that the shortage of delivery workers and intensity in the north is causing delays. Besides zomato instant does not have a separate delivery team yet.
The reported news on May 11 says swiggy, zepto, and others are also seeing longer timelines for delivery workers for the reason of fuel price hikes and no pay hikes, also looking for jobs elsewhere.
